You must register, enter your data and credit card number.

Once in front of the electric vehicle, you must scan the QR code to activate the rental service.
You can park the scooter at the end of the journey and close the rental service via the app.
Rules for driving an electric scooter iN ROME
To drive an electric scooter, you must be at least 14 years old.
Up to 18 years old, the helmet is mandatory.
This means, the scooter is equated to bicycles and can, therefore, circulate only on urban roads where there is a limit of 50 km / h, which are not already prohibited to two-wheeled pedals, and on bike paths whenever there are; the maximum speed allowed is 25 km / h, reduced to 6 km / h in pedestrian areas; it is mandatory to be visible in the evening and when lighting is poor.
Both hands must be free and hold the handlebars, except when necessary to signal that you are turning. Carrying other people or objects is prohibited. Keep to the right and never ride side-by-side. Never tow or be towed.

The unlocking of a scooter has the standard cost of 1 euro. After that, the rental cost changes depending on the operator, from 15 to 25 cents per minute.
Scooter sharing operators in Rome
To provide electric scooter sharing services in Rome are Helbiz, Lime, Bird, Wind, Dott, and Link. For all of these companies, payment is made in the same way (as described above) via the app and pay by credit or debit card. Helbiz
To use the scooters, you need to download the Helbiz mobile app. A free app is available for Android and iOS. Once you have provided your email address or the references of your social account, you receive a security code that allows you to access the service. A map is displayed on the smartphone showing the available vehicles and the battery charge level.
The service cost is 1 euro for the initial unlocking, to which 15 cents must be added for each minute of travel. There is also the possibility to take advantage of a subscription formula through the flat rate Helbiz Unlimited, for 29.99 euros per month. It allows you to make an unlimited number of daily trips, but with a maximum duration of 30 minutes. However, at least 20 minutes must pass between each ride.
Sharing of Helbiz scooters is limited to the historic center and the Parioli/Pinciano, Flaminio, Trieste, Nomentano/University, San Lorenzo, San Giovanni, Rione Prati, Trionfale/Medaglie d’Oro, Portuense, Marco Polo, Garbatella/Ostiense, Tor Marancia/Montagnola, Ardeatino, San Paolo/Marconi and Prati della Vittoria neighborhoods. Inside Villa Borghese, as is also evident from the map displayed on the smarphone, the scooter cannot be parked. Inside the park it is instead possible to circulate.
Wind
Download the Wind mobile app – Smart e-Scooter Sharing. A free app is available for both Android and iOS smartphones. Once you have authorized the geolocation of your device, it becomes possible to access the service. The smartphone displays a map showing the available vehicles and the battery charge level. Wind indicates the number of kilometers you can cover with the scooter before it runs out of power.
The service cost is 1 euro for the initial release, to which 19 cents must be added for each minute of travel.
The sharing of Wind scooters is limited to the historic center and the districts of Gianicolense, Trastevere, Ostiense, San Giovanni, San Lorenzo, Nomentano, Villaggio Olimpico, Flaminio, Prati, and Monteverde, as is also evident from the concentric map displayed on the smartphone.
Lime
Download the Lime mobile application. It’s a free App available for both Android and iOS smartphones. Once you have provided your email address or the references of your social account, authorized the geolocation, it becomes possible to access the service. The smartphone displays a map showing the available vehicles and the battery charge level.
The service cost is 1 euro for the initial unlocking, to which 25 cents must be added for each minute of travel. However, Lime offers subscription formulas through which it is possible to save money. The daily pass is one of these. For 13.99 euros, you can travel freely for 24 hours. The other promotional formula is the “Unlimited Unlocks” Pass. It allows, for 12.99 euros per month and 60 minutes of travel, to not pay the unlocking fee. After using the minutes included in the month, the standard per-minute rate is applied.
The sharing of Lime scooters is limited to the historic center and the districts of Garbatella, San Giovanni, Appio Latino, Casal Bertone, Parioli/Pinciano, Flaminio, Trieste, Nomentano/University, Prati, Della Vittoria, Trionfale/Medaglie d’Oro, Aurelio and Portuense, as is also evident from the concentric map displayed on the smartphone.
Bird
Download the free application Bird. Co. Once registered, the app displays the map showing the nearest scooter. It is also possible to reserve it, with a reservation that lasts a maximum of 30 minutes. Once you reach the scooter, through the QR Code, you can start your journey. At the end of the route, you must take a photo to verify the correct positioning of the vehicle. If it is badly parked, the “Bird watchers” operating on the territory intervene to move it.
The cost of the Bird scooters is one euro for unlocking and twenty-five cents for each minute. On the app, reference is also made to “promotions,” currently not active. The company has also announced plans to launch a subscription package that is still being prepared.
The free flow of Bird scooters is active in the center of Rome and in general for all neighborhoods that fall within the Municipality I. Subsequently, the company says, “the area will also expand to the areas of Piramide, Trastevere, arriving in Prati and then covering the City Hall II up to the Salario district, and then going down to San Giovanni.” In a third step, “new areas of the city will also be included.”
Dott
Download the free application, Dott. Once registered, the app displays the map showing the nearest scooter. Icons appear with the scooters on the smartphone screen, indicating their level of charge and distance from the user’s location. Once reached, the electric scooter is unlocked through a QR CODE.
The cost of Dott’s scooters is 1 euro for unlocking, as is the case for other operators. The hourly rate is instead 19 cents per minute. It is sufficient to have a credit of at least two euros and fifty cents to use the app. At the moment, no promotions are active in Rome.
The free flow of Dott scooters has been designed to serve the most central area of the capital. The perimeter is bordered to the south by the location of Piramide, Piazzale Ostiense, and then, continuing to Testaccio goes up to the east in the direction of Vatican City. The northernmost area that Dott reaches is Ponte Milvio, extending as far as the section of Via Cassia inside the ring road. To the east, the perimeter is delimited by Via Piave and to the southeast by Manzoni.

To use this company’s vehicles, download the free Link app and register to find a scooter near you. Scan the QR code to unlock the scooter. The scooter performs a safety check before starting the ride. Special zones for using the scooter are shown on the map.
